Amazing Bus Drivers !!

I'm alone for the first day this week and boy it's a weird feeling !! I've been riding with Kevin this week as he drives the bus around the towns to pick up and drop off High School, Middle School and Elementary kids. Wow am I beat and I'm not even driving !!! I have to say that I have this new and HUGE appreciation for the drivers of the buses ! He gets up at 4:30 AM, were off by 5 AM and then out of the yard just before 6 am. He says hello to each and every child that gets on the bus, while trying to remember this 5 pages of kids around the twists and turns of these lovely NH roads. The older kids are half asleep, some quiet, moody, some smiling, ready to start the day. The young kids are all charged with energy raring to go and boy can they get noisy ! We drop them all off which takes 3 hours from start to finish having stopped at 3 different schools. It's funny to listen to the CB that buzzes in the back ground of parents complaining and kids that didn't show up. If they could only have a parents day so they could ride, they would never complain again ! We go home for 3 hours only to run back to start it all over again for another 3 hours of fun, only in reverse. The older kids screaming if you pass their house with the young ones half asleep not caring if you take them home with you. One young one- that wasn't on the sheet we figured out when we ran out of houses and she was still with us- didn't know where she lived or her last name. Luckily someone else on the CB knew her and told us where to take her to her waiting father. Then he's back to drop off the bus after her gets gas. Dog tired because half of the roads in these towns are dirt and covered with pot holes and wash boards. Ever feel like your teeth would fall out of your head from bumpy roads ?? Well, try doing that 7 hours a day !! I wish every parent could ride in a bus for a couple of days. They would never again look down at the driver, get upset with them or think badly of them. They are gold in my book. Everyone of them deserving of a golden medal and a life of honor. You are my hero Kevin ! Lisa

You get up at 4:30 a.m., Lisa? Well, that's amazing. No, your writing is very humorous and entertaining. You should have done it for Mr. Woods back in sixth grade. He would have loved it.
